Are You a Story Hero?

THE 5 ARCHETYPES OF STORYTELLING

The 5 Archetypes of Storytelling is a narrative framework rooted in history, sharpened by modern relevance and designed to propel your career and your leadership.

Tyler Pearson

Instead of grabbing a guitar and joining a band, Tyler spent the start of his career waking up much too early and wearing a suit to anchor a television news morning show, also serving as an executive producer and fearless live reporter. After too much Red Bull-enhanced perkiness and 16-hour days, he left TV news for the more comfortable confines of corporate communication and marketing, finding that the journalistic and writing skills transferred well.

Following multiple stops in ever-increasing roles in corporate America, he started his own company focused on content marketing and storytelling. Now, his career bridges leadership, storytelling, and strategy, helping leaders uncover the narratives that drive influence and impact. He developed the 5 Archetypes of Storytelling not as an abstract theory, but rather a framework rooted in history that can propel careers and create leaders.

It’s not your shortage of facts that holds you back. It’s your shortage of story.

We live in a digital-first world overflowing with data. We have terabytes of facts at our fingertips, but without interpretation it is just noise. In business and leadership, the same is true. Careers don’t stall because people lack information, they stall because people lack narrative and story.

We must close that gap. When you learn to turn raw facts into compelling stories, you stop letting others write your narrative for you. By understanding the archetypes of storytelling, you will come to see your career as a narrative arc, one that you have the power to shape. And if you commit to the journey, you will be prepared to step into the role of a Story Hero: a leader whose story does not just end with achievement, but with a lasting legacy.
